Photographers and Videographers

Selecting a wedding photographer.

As you can see from the list of local photographers below, there are plenty of qualified, professional photographers in the Santa Cruz area to pick from. So how do you make sure you select the one that’s best for you?

Never just accept a friend or acquaintance’s recommendation for a photographer. Take the time to make appointments with those that others recommend and also with a selection of those whose work appeals to you.

Visiting a photographer’s web site is a good start. A good photographer is also a photographic artist. His or her style needs to match what you are looking for. And their styles can vary greatly, just as the styles of weddings differ from each other.

Make sure you are comfortable with the photographer. You should leave the interview feeling assured that your wedding memories will be in good hands.

Be clear about your budget, and know exactly what you will be getting for what you are spending. Professional photographers will work with you to make sure that you are happy with the selection of photos that will fit your budget.

Be wary of using a non-professional, “hobby” photographer. The photographer who is going to be in charge of recording your most memorable moments needs to be consistent, experienced, and reliable.
