Selecting “The Dress”

There are quite a few sites on the internet with good advise on selecting your wedding dress.  I have included a few of them below, but I would like to add a few words of practical advise.

Don’t select a style from a bridal magazine based on how the model looks.  She is paid to make that gown look great.  Think carefully about what styles are flattering on you.

Be critical and selective.  Know what you like and what you don’t like before you start shopping.

Keep and open mind.  Even if you are sure you know exactly which style you want, there could be a dress that’s even more perfect for you.  Let the sales staff make suggestions.  You don’t have to accept them.

Don’t be pressured into loosing weight in order to squeeze into a smaller size in time for the wedding.  You don’t need the added stress and you are going to look great in the right dress no matter what your figure type.

If you want a group of friends to come along to help you look at dresses do so.  If you would be much happier with just your best friend and your mom helping you, stick with that. Do what is comfortable for you.

Enjoy the process.  Stop shopping before the gowns all start running together in your head.  You may need more than one appointment at more that one shop to find the right dress.
